FACULTY OF ARTS & ARCHAEOLOGY, CAIRO UNIVERSITY, GIZA, EGYPT March 4th - 6th, 2008
As part of the 100 Year celebration of Faculty of Archaeology
and Cairo University (1908-2008) faculty staff, great number of graduates and many distinguished guest,
including the founder of The Archaeological
Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun Foundation, Mr. Semir
Osmanagic, gathered in the Great Ceremony Hall of the University.
During his visit and talks with Dean and Vice Dean’s of the University, Mr. Osmanagic
presented the project of "The Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids" and familiarized them with
Foundation's cooperation with the Egyptian Government and some of the leading geology and
archaeology experts from their country.
This anniversary was a good opportunity for the University
to organize a scientific conference named ‘GIZA THROUGH THE
HISTORY’. The opening of the scientific conference was one
more opportunity for Mr. Osmanagic to meet with Dean of the
Faculty Prof. Dr. Alaa Shaheen. With great pleasure, both
men concluded that a fruitful and concrete scientific collaboration
was established on the project of the Bosnian pyramids. The Faculty of Archaeology
at Cairo University attend more than 3000 students and
it has over 100 professors, that makes it the leading institution
for pyramid research in the world. Prof. Shaheen expressed
his outmost satisfaction about impressions his colleague
archaeologists who visited the Bosnian valley of pyramids had
in 2007. He said that the archaeological work at various
locations in Visoko has awakened a great interest among many other
Faculty experts. Prof. Dr. Shaheen has announced his
intention to visit Visoko in 2008 together with a delegation
of 10 experts in the filed of geology, archaeology and Egyptology.
This again is the best proof of the great importance leading experts
from Egypt are attributing to the pyramidal complex in Visoko,
Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mr. Semir Osmanagic met again Prof.
Dr. Mona Fouad Aly (Head of the Department for Archaeological
Conservation), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Aly, Prof. Dr. Mustafa
Jakub (petrologist), Prof. Dr. Nabil M.A. Swelim and Dr. Mahmut
E-Anbaawy and others who are already involved in the project
of the Bosnian Pyramids. During the conference Mr. Osmanagic
was interviewed by the Second National TV Channel seen by
millions of people in Egypt. He informed the public about
the discovery of the ‘First European Pyramids’ and the possibility
for tourism development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
